History
Chartered in 1951, sponsored by the Oak Grove Ruritan Club. In 1981 the CG Ruritan sponsored the Efland Ruritan Club.
One of six clubs in Zone 7 of the Rocky Mount- Durham Ruritan District of North Carolina. Other clubs in our district are Bahama, Bethel Hill, Efland, Mt. Sylvan, and Rougemont.

Kenneth Wells Benefit Dinner
We raised over $9,600 for Kenneth Wells,
with the benefit dinner this year. Special thanks to Hugh Wells,
Sharon Bennet, Elaine Johnson, Virginia Boland, Mike Griffin, Dwight Oakley,
Sam Hobgood, Kenny Slater, Troy Rountree, CGRC members, Eno Presbyterian
Church, Cedar Grove Methodist Church and other community members for
planning and making the event possible.
The Tate Fire Benefit Dinner
Thank you to everyone for making the
benefit dinner a huge success, we raised over $11,000. Thank you from
the Cedar Grove Ruritan Club to everyone that supported the fundraiser and
the following folks for helping with manpower;

The Tate family had a home fire just before Christmas, which damaged and destroyed nearly everything. They were able to save a few sentimental items but not much else. All proceeds went to the Tate Family. Pictured are Mike Griffin, Ryan Miller, Joyce and Bill Tate. |

CGRC 2007 Rewards
Our building and grounds remain one of our greatest contributions to our community. Our main building was used 112 days including club-donated events. Donated use included:

Fields and Grounds have been used by:

We rent our soccer fields to the Euroclydon Homeschool Soccer teams and the baseball field to two local USAAA teams for spring and summer practice.

We held the Second Annual Russell Wagoner Memorial Softball Tournament at the baseball/softball field. (donated)

The gym was rented this past year to the Euroclydon Homeschool basketball teams and Zion Christian Academy.

We rent the gym to young adult group on Sunday afternoons, and older adult group on Wednesday evening and on an ad hoc basis for various practices with various local teams.

The gym was used by the United Methodist Church Harvest Festival.
Donated over $2000 to other organizations including:

Jr. Livestock Show (4-H and FFA)

4H Hummingbirds
CGRC Scholarship Fund paid out $3000 in scholarships this year.
